Why I believe in Prepaid Legal Services!
I believe in Prepaid Legal Services because I've used it numerous times! I can't even tell you how many times I've used it that much. lol. The first time I used it I felt nervous and empowered at the same time. I was 23 years old and I remember feeling weird about calling an attorney because in my mind attorneys were intimidating. My uncle was an attorney and intimidated me. Great guy, I just was nervous to ask him legal stuff. I had called him on an issue just a few months before using prepaid legal and he gave me some guidance, for which I'm grateful, but it was nice discussing my legal problems with someone other than family. When I first called my Prepaid Legal attorneys I remember venting this huge sob story about how I had lived in this home that made me sick and how I had found out that it had Methamphetamine and how I had to move out 3 weeks before I signed my lease and didn't get my deposit or part of my rent reimbursed. It was extremely stressful and I remember how he told me what documents I needed to fax over to the firm and when he was going to write my letter. I even got a copy of the letter he wrote to the landlord that had screwed me over. He kept me updated on the information that the landlord had written him etc. Unfortunately my landlord was out of the country so it was hard to serve him papers, but I was so happy that someone had my back!! Just the fact that I had someone working on my behalf made me feel soooo good! And I felt like my attorney actually cared about what had happened to me. Before I found out about prepaid I had complained to the health department, the police, and my family, but no one seemed to be able to point me in the direction I needed and I finally learned what it was like to have someone around who knew what my rights were, that same month I was able to get my will prepared for free and I've been able to update it every year at no cost, except for that of my monthly membership. It's important to have a will when you have children to protect them in case something happens. When I had my baby boy I was able to update my will and now I have extra peace of mind for his sake. I was reassured again that having prepaid legal is awesome a couple years back when I had cable and canceled it. The cable company told me that I was in a two year contract when I was only on a month to month when I tried to cancel. I was really annoyed so I waited 3 months again to cancel and the second time they agreed that I was on month to month. Since I didn't use my cable and I paid for the 3 months in-between I decided that they needed to reimburse me since I could have canceled 3 months prior. They wouldn't listen and the attorney that I spoke to told me to report it on the better business bureau. I didn't believe him so I waited a few more months and he kept telling me to go to the better business bureau. So I finally decided to listen and magically within a week I got somewhere around 150 dollars back from the 3 months of cable service I hadn't used. Having an attorney work on your behalf or even give you the correct advice and direction is a combination to enforcing the rights that every citizen in the U.S. has. Unfortunately, most people are either too broke, prideful, scared, or they think they can put out their own fires so they don't use someone with the proper training and knowledge to help them enforce their rights. This may sound like an infomercial, but with Prepaid Legal you really have access to real attorneys, (real people) who have your best interest in mind.
